Rory McIlroy and wife Erica Stoll have called off divorce proceedings, saying that they have now "resolved" their differences.
A month earlier, Northern Irish golfer McIlroy had filed for divorce from Ms Stoll ahead of the PGA Championship at Valhalla in Louisville.
However, it appears that the couple have patched things up, after divorce proceedings were closed in a filing in Palm Beach County, Florida. This filing arrived ahead of the US Open, at Pinehurst, North Carolina, on Thursday.
In a statement, Rory McIlroy has confirmed that the pair have called off divorce proceedings, and are now looking to a "new beginning" as a family.
"There have been rumours about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate. Responding to each rumour is a fool's game", McIlroy said. "Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future was as a family together".
"Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning", he added.
McIlroy and Stoll have been married since 2017, and share a daughter named Poppy, who was born in September 2020.
