Cork City Council says low lying areas of the city may experience tidal flooding until Friday.

Strong winds and high waves associated with Storm Ernesto may lead to pooling in the usual areas including Morrison’s Quay, South Terrace and the south end of South Mall.

The council says no property damage or road closures are predicted at the moment and it will continue to assess the situation.

Storm Ernesto, which has been tracking across the Atlantic, is expected to bring unsettled weather to much of Ireland, with heavy rain and gusty winds.

While no property damage or road closures are anticipated at this time, the council is closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as needed.

High tide is at 7:02pm this evening and 7:23am tomorrow morning.
