Today is the last day of the lying in state.

President Michael D Higgins and Taoiseach Micheál Martin are the latest world leaders to pay their respects to Britain’s Queen Elizabeth.

A minute’s silence will be held across the UK at 8pm this evening – before the new King holds a reception for overseas guests at Buckingham Palace, on the eve of his mother’s state funeral.

Some people have already begun camping out along the route the Queen’s coffin will take tomorrow.

Meanwhile, businesses in Northern Ireland, particularly Derry, are torn on whether to close for the funeral tomorrow.

Tomorrow has been declared a national bank holiday in the UK, however that’s caused headaches for Northern Irish employers.

The Sunday Times reports major global retailers in the six counties will shut, but smaller businesses in nationalist areas are under pressure not to.

Super Valu’s store in Dungiven will stay open according to Musgrave’s with many of it’s staff understood to be happy to go to work tomorrow.
