Justin Timberlake has been forced to postpone a number of live shows due to illness.

The singer has put several shows on hold, after being diagnosed with bronchitis and laryngitis.

Apologising to fans on social media, the 'Cry Me A River' singer announced that six of his upcoming shows in the US would be rescheduled for February next year.

He had been due to perform in Columbus, Ohio on Wednesday, ahead of shows in Detroit, Michigan, and Chicago Illinois on Friday and Saturday. Further shows at Grand Rapids, Michigan, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and St Paul, Minnesota, have also been rescheduled.

"Hey guys - I haven't been feeling great the last few shows and turns out I have bronchitis and laryngitis", the singer wrote on Instagram. "I’m so sorry to say I do need to reschedule the next few shows from 10/23 through 11/2. New dates listed above.

He added: "Thank you for understanding - I’ll make it up to you - JT".
