Gardaí have responded to 41,115 callouts to instances of domestic abuse so far in 2023, with an average of 125 such callouts per day.
The government has previously said that combating domestic violence is a key priority.
However, Aontú Leader Peadar Tóibín said the government has been too slow in its investment in supports for victims.
Mr Tóibín said: “One of the big problems that the government has been responsible for is lack of investments in terms of supports for women who have suffered domestic violence.
“We have at least nine counties currently without a domestic violence refuge. While there is some investment going into the system, it is glacial in terms of the speed that is necessary.”
Aontú research as revealed that Domestic Violence is massively increasing in Ireland.
