That moment when a steward confused Italian defender Leonardo Bonucci with a fan trying to sneak onto the pitch has gone viral. Italy's players were celebrating with their fans following their country's penalty shootout victory over Spain in the first semi final of Euro 2020 last night.
However, amidst all the celebrating and pandemonium, a steward's blunder of mistaking Leonardo Bonucci for an Italian supporter has now gone viral.
Following Italy's victory, Bonucci along with the rest of the Italian players rushed towards their fans at Wembley Stadium. Stewards had stepped in to ensure the safety of supporters and fans alike.
As Bonnuci approached the fans, a steward stopped him as they thought he was a supporter invading the pitch.
A bemused Bonucci looked at her with shock and confusion.
