Martin Scorsese is working on a TV series for Gangs Of New York, according to reports.
Martin Scorsese had previously directed a film inspired by Herbert Asbury's 1927 novel. Released in 2002, Gangs Of New York was received 10 Oscar nominees, starring Leonardo Di Caprio and Daniel Day-Lewis.
Along with serving as executive producer, the Oscar, Bafta and Golden Globe winning director is to also direct the first two episodes of the Miramax Television-developed series. The script is to also be written by Brett Keonard.
The TV series is reportedly set to focus on a different story to the one presented by Scorsese's 2002 film.
